Cookie policy

This page explains how FranceCompass uses cookies and similar technologies and what choices visitors have. Google AdSense advertising is being prepared. Advertising-related processing must only be activated under the applicable disclosure and consent requirements.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies and similar identifiers can store information about a device or visit. Some support essential technical functions; others are used for analytics, personalisation or advertising.

2. Types of cookies and technologies

  • Necessary and security cookies: WordPress, the hosting provider and protection tools may use technical identifiers for administration, operation and security. Strictly necessary cookies may be exempt from consent where legal conditions are met.
  • Analytics: if non-exempt analytics tools are enabled, their cookies must comply with applicable rules and their providers and retention periods must be disclosed.
  • Advertising: once Google AdSense is active, Google and selected partners may use cookies and identifiers to deliver, measure and, where applicable, personalise ads. See https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

3. Consent

Where required, a consent management platform certified for Google AdSense will offer choices to accept, reject or manage preferences before non-essential tracking is activated. Rejecting consent should not prevent access to FranceCompass guides.

Once the consent manager is operational, visitors must be able to change or withdraw their choices from the site. This informational page alone is not a technical consent tool.

4. Providers and retention periods

Advertising providers and specific purposes will be shown in Google’s consent message when active. Retention periods vary by provider and purpose. We do not claim unverified tracking technologies are in active use.

5. Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies using your browser’s privacy settings and manage Google’s ad personalisation at https://myadcenter.google.com/. Blocking some cookies may affect technical features.
